Elusive silver fox
Once again you knock
Upon my door so urgently
Come quickly now you’ve got to see
All this silver air out there
Wide eyed wide mouthed
I do so stare
Then quickly after silver fox
I delve into the night it locks
Me right into its silvery dare
A trail of silver lies upon the ground
>
The only evidence to be found
of my silvered friend
Will this trail ever end
Will the turns and twists and bends
Ever cease to make me gasp
Tripping on my words I laugh
Oh this elusive silvery fox
He certainly knew upon which door to knock
Where do his journeys take him to
What kind of magic is leading him through
As steadily as the starlight shines I know his story continues to twine
Just over there in the shadows fair
He slinks and slides in shadows lined
With mysteries as ancient as night
Yet when you try to turn on the light
He disappears without a sight
Ethereal spirit he’ll always be
Yet when you stop the must and try
Out he’ll appear as quick as light
Just up ahead
He weaves a silver thread
Look carefully upon where you tread
For in his wake lie stardust pools of silver grey and lighting tools
Gather them gently father them well
For only time and starlight will tell how this little gems shall blossom
You’d think them gone like little possum
Yet wait! When you do least expect
Out comes light so bright it shines you must your
open my little door always to tell me more.”
